Entering a New Wave

Dear Pitch Play Co.mmunity and previous Cayne Creative clients,

It would be irresponsible of me as CEO of a committed career coaching company and not to address the importance of Artificial Intelligence and the impact it will have on the job market. I, alongside two talented engineers, once created an AI in 2018 called the APT. This is documented in my portfolio. At the age of 28 with a budget of $0, we completely revolutionized an organization resulting in a $200k ROI. As this was one of my favorite accomplishments, the APT’s impact pales in comparison to the GPT. We’ve seen four variations of GPT since its birth in 2020 with more to come.

Don’t get me wrong, we’re about to see amazing things and benefits from its impact. But if the ROI is as large as the gap between the APT and the GPT, then it’s reasonable to consider that there is about to be a heavy reduction in the tech workforce and the need for a variety of technical skills within the years to come. Once the APT was created, the first question someone on my team asked me was, “Are we going to lose our jobs?” Very reasonable question considering we started completing our 8-hour workload in less than an hour.

To retain our jobs, we shifted our focus to be more specialists in End-User products and pricing instead of quote producers. This refocus strategy worked wonders and greatly contributed to our work-life balance. That experience has taught me to proactively prepare to pivot.

Preparation is key:

  • Remain calm, it’s planning time

  • Constantly analyze the job market from trusted sources to grasp the upcoming wave

  • Consider the concept of reskilling to pivot, if needed, into the upcoming market

  • Develop your soft skills

I am also taking this advice and will update and share best practices with you. Pitch Play Co. will shift its focus to prepare you for the upcoming job market and continue to transform the career coaching industry.

We’re in this together.

Regards,
Tariq Ali Cayne
