Congratulations! You’ve done it! The moment you’ve been working so hard for… graduation! Now, it’s time to move on to the next stage.

Entering the workforce after graduation can be both exciting and very scary. While you may be eager to start your career, the job search process can be overwhelming, and once you land a job, there is still a lot to navigate.

Don’t worry! With the help of my intern, a soon-to-be graduate, we've put together this post-undergraduate checklist to help you successfully navigate this transition.

 

1. Refine Your Resume and Cover Letter

Your resume and cover letter are your first impressions with potential employers. Therefore, it's essential to craft them well. Here are some tips to help you refine your application materials:

  • Tailor your resume and cover letter to each job you apply for

  • Highlight the skills and experience that are most relevant to the position

  • Use action verbs and metrics to quantify your accomplishments
